Marian Schwartz

Marian Schwartz is a prize-winning translator of Russian fiction, history, biography, criticism, and fine art. Her most recent book translations are Mikhail Shishkin's Maidenhair (Open Letter Books), Leonid Yuzefovich’s Harlequin’s Costume  (Glagoslav), Andrei Gelasimov's The Lying Year (AmazonCrossing) and Aleksandra Shatsikih's Black Square (Yale University Press).  She is the principal English translator of the works of Nina Berberova and translated the New York Times’ bestseller The Last Tsar, by Edvard Radzinsky, as well as classics by Mikhail Bulgakov, Ivan Goncharov, Yuri Olesha, and Mikhail Lermontov.


Rohan Kamicheril

Rohan Kamicheril is the editor of Words without Borders, the online magazine for literature in translation. He was also the editor of the WWB anthology The Wall in My Head, which commemorated the twentieth anniversary of the fall of the Iron Curtain.


Mikhail Epstein

Mikhail Epstein was born in Moscow and moved to the USA in 1990.  He has been a professor at Emory University since 1991 and is the author of 29 books and more than 600 articles and essays, many of which are translated into 16 languages. His books include After the Future: The Paradoxes of Postmodernism and Contemporary Russian Culture (1995),Transcultural Experiments: Russian and American Models of Creative Communication(with E. Berry, 1999), The Philosophy of the Possible (2001), and Mapping Blank Spaces: On the Future of the Humanities (2004). Epstein has won national and international prizes, including the Andrei Bely prize (1991); The Social Innovations Award 1995 from the Institute for Social Inventions for his electronic Bank of New Ideas; the International Essay Contest set up byLettre International and Weimar - Cultural City of Europe 1999; and the Liberty Prize, awarded for his outstanding contribution in the development of Russian-American cultural connections (2000).

Sergei Tishkov

Sergei Tishkov is editorial director, children's and young adult books, at RIPOL Classic Publishing Group. Tishkov created a series, Masterpieces of Book Illustration for Children, which has won national prizes, and he heads up an imprint that publishes series for teenagers. Tishkov has been nominated for Person of the Year in Book Publishing several times. 


Arkady Vitrouk

Arkady Vitrouk is CEO and general director of Azbooka-Atticus Publishing Group, a publisher that serves as the Russian partner of Hachette. Azbooka-Atticus, a Russian and Ukrainian publisher, has imprints for translated fiction, Russian authors, and children’s books. Vitrouk, whose background also includes investment management, received his MBA at Harvard University's Graduate School of Business Administration. 


Igor Savelyev

Igor Savelyev is a fiction writer, essayist, and journalist from Ufa. Savelyev's Pale City, a fictional account of hitchhiking experiences first pubilshed in the "thick" journal Novyi mir, won him a wide following.
